Meditation 101: Get Started With This Beginner’s Guide

There is no doubt that mediation is a hot topic.

Grab any periodical from the news-stand and you’ll likely find within its glossy pages someone endorsing the benefits of a daily meditation routine.

From actors like Hugh Jackman (X-men, Wolverine) and Jim Carey (Yes Man, Bruce Almighty) to pop-stars like Katy Perry or talk-show host such as Oprah Winfrey; high profile individuals have been using meditation for decades to keep up with pressure and maintain a balanced life.

Meditation is such a trendy topic, in fact, that the Chicago Tribune published earlier today an article to raise general awareness on this practice and provide a quick and helpful guide that anybody can use to take up the meditation habit.

Be warned however that you won’t become a meditation master overnight, as outlined by the author of the article.

She rather advises to give it some time to find our optimal meditation method and build a daily habit and provides us with the following words of wisdom:

“Give it time. I would say a minimum of 30 days and at least 20 minutes per meditation. It usually takes at least 10 minutes to get out of your day and get settled to where you can stop swearing at yourself for not being able to focus.”
